At an early age I was intuitive and sensitive to spiritual energies and in my early thirties this developed naturally to a level where I could utilise my sensitivity to serve others. I began working professionally in 1993, initially concentrating on providing postal readings for clients from many countries but also offering personal private appointments. From 1995, I worked as a medium and speaker in many of the spiritualist churches and centres in South West England.
I also became busy with energy readings where I read the chakras, aura and associated energies. I used my runes sometimes when I was with spiritually minded friends and the four steps of Runes and Rainbows began to emerge organically. It was natural for me to blend my understanding of the chakras, aura and universal energies into my work with the runes. I did not think about creating a process, but I always followed the same steps. In 2014, I finished writing Runes and Rainbows, which was originally published by Mirador later that year.
In 2012, I moved to Iceland. From 2012 to early 2019, I gave readings at Gjafir Jarðar, a shop with a spiritual theme in the centre of Reykjavík. I also taught a private spiritual awareness group close to Reykjavík for a time. Between August 2012 and June 2019, I sometimes provided readings at Sálarrannsóknarfélag Íslands where I also participated in public demonstrations of mediumship on a few occasions. I had enjoyed working at both places but it was the right time for me to work independently. Most years, from 2013, I returned to work at spiritualist churches and spiritual centres in South West England, and I plan to do so again in 2025. I also greatly appreciated the opportunity to work in Sweden on a couple of occasions. Not surprisingly, my online work has increased since COVID-19.
My passion for writing has blended with my interest in consciousness, my experiences of dreams and insights, and my huge love of nature and exploring different places and ideas. My third book, An Odyssey in Iceland – An Englishwoman’s true story of life and dreams, was published in 2024. This is my own story, from the earliest beginnings of the burning desire that would lead me to Iceland, to the multi-faceted experiences and wonders that I encountered in the land of fire and ice, along with the dreams of the night and insights that were part of it. Ultimately, my life in Iceland brought forward new ideas and goals for my future, which has been both fascinating and challenging. This book, along with Runes and Rainbows, and my second book, Feathers of Destiny, a visionary novel, are published by and available on Amazon, under the author name, Kay T. Cook.
